Severe Delays on M25 Anticlockwise Following Night time Multi-Vehicle Collision

In the early hours of the morning, a serious accident involving four cars led to substantial disruptions on the M25, particularly affecting the stretch from Junction 8 A217 Brighton Road (Reigate) to Junction 7 M23. The incident, which prompted an extensive investigation, resulted in severe delays and a significant impact on the morning commute.

The highway was completely closed from midnight, causing early morning traffic to come to a standstill. As of 05:30, authorities managed to partially reopen the road, leaving three lanes closed and only one lane available to the increasing number of vehicles attempting to navigate through the area.

Traffic reports indicate queueing traffic stretching for approximately nine miles, with congestion backing up to Junction 9 Leatherhead. Commuters are facing travel times of up to 1 hour and 30 minutes, significantly longer than usual for this segment of the M25.
