Six men are behind bars for supplying cocaine in Surrey

Six men are behind bars today (13 June), for supplying cocaine following a police operation which took place in the Woking area between August and October 2018. Three of the men were found guilty of conspiracy to supply class A drugs (cocaine), when they appeared at Guildford Crown Court last month. The three men who were found guilty and sentenced today are: Zakib Zeb, 33, of no fixed address; Abdul Natiq Shan, 30, of Walton Road, Woking; Javid Akhter, 59, of Queen Elizabeth Way, Woking The other three men, who had already pleaded guilty to the charges, including: George Cook, 26, Braeside, New Haw; Andi Shoshari, 29, Bunyard Drive, Sheerwater, Woking; Munir Hussain, 42, Walton Court, Woking The police operation was launched following a series of violent incidents in the Woking area, which all appeared to be drug-related. This resulted in a number of officers carrying out several search warrants in the Woking area in November 2018, and the six men being arrested and charged. Detective Sergeant Lee Hazell said: “Six men are no longer dealing class A drugs on the streets of Surrey thanks to this investigation, which was initiated after it became apparent that a spate of violent incidents in the Woking area were all drug-related. “The investigation involved months of hard work and I would like to thank my team and also the backing from the public, who have openly shown their support in relation to the work we have done. “This operation demonstrates our commitment and determination in proactively targeting drug dealers and ensuring they are prevented from supplying drugs in Surrey. These operations are intelligence led through the work we do, but it is important for the public to play their part too in protecting their communities. “That means being vigilant to the signs of drug dealing and reporting it to us. While we may not be able to respond off the back of one report, we will be able to build a picture of what is going on take action such as this operation at a later stage.” If you have information about suspected drug dealing or you feel a vulnerable person is being exploited, please contact us on 101.
