Detectives are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a violent incident that left a 16-year-old boy seriously injured. The attack occurred in Mabgate, Leeds, on Thursday, February 22, around 11:15. The victim and his friends encountered a man acting erratically near the Regent Street underpass.

The suspect verbally abused one of the boys, leading to an altercation in nearby St Mary’s Street. When the victim bravely intervened, the assailant brandished a blade and slashed him across the forehead. The severity of the injury necessitated hospital treatment, including stitches. The victim and his family have granted permission to release an image of the wound to aid the investigation.

Detectives from Leeds District CID are treating this incident as grievous bodily harm with intent. If you recognise the suspect or possess any information that could assist the investigation, please come forward.
