A rapid response by officers has led to the arrest of a suspect connected to a serious assault in Sheerness.
The incident occurred on Sunday, 25 February 2024, around 2:00 PM in Alma Street, where the victim was allegedly approached and assaulted by a man known to him. The victim sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds and was promptly transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Fortunately, he has since been discharged.
Following the assault, the suspect reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle. However, officers swiftly initiated an investigation, conducting inquiries at the scene and meticulously examining CCTV footage in the vicinity.
Approximately two hours later, Kent Police officers apprehended a 49-year-old local man in connection with the assault. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody for further questioning.
