A 19-year-old drug dealer has been sentenced to 30 months in prison following a joint operation between Surrey Police and the Metropolitan Police to dismantle a county line operating in Epsom.

Ronnie Belcher, of Gibraltar Crescent, Epsom, appeared at Guildford Crown Court on Tuesday, December 17, where he was convicted of multiple drug-related offences.

Charges and Evidence

The court heard that Belcher was guilty of:

  • Possession with intent to supply Class A drugs
  • Being concerned in the supply of Class A and Class C substances
  • Possession of Class B drugs
  • Possession of criminal property

Belcher was arrested in May 2024 after officers raided his home, acting on intelligence about his involvement in a local drugs supply network. During the search, officers uncovered significant quantities of Class A, B, and C drugs, £8,000 in cash, and a mobile phone containing messages linked to drug transactions.

Impact on the Community

Inspector Tommy Pearson, Borough Commander for Epsom and Ewell, emphasized the harm drug activity causes to local communities:
“Drugs can cause a devastating impact on local communities, which is why we’re committed to working with neighbouring forces to stop those bringing drugs into the county.

“You can help us tackle the problem by providing information if you suspect drug dealing is taking place in your area. A little information can go a long way and help us build up a bigger picture of organised crime.

Public Assistance Encouraged

Police are urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity. Information provided by the public can be crucial in identifying and disrupting criminal networks.

Tackling County Lines

The case highlights the ongoing battle against county lines drug operations, which exploit vulnerable individuals to transport and sell drugs across regions. This sentencing serves as a reminder of law enforcement’s dedication to dismantling such networks and holding offenders accountable.

For those wishing to report drug-related activity, Surrey Police encourage contacting them via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
