Tragedy in Coventry: Seven-Month-Old Baby Girl Dies After Dog Attack

A seven-month-old baby girl has tragically died after being mauled by the family dog at her home in Coventry. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at a property on Shorncliffe Road.

West Midlands Police reported: “A baby has tragically died after being bitten by a pet dog at a home in Coventry. We were called to a property at Shorncliffe Road shortly after 3 PM on Sunday. Together with our ambulance colleagues, we arrived within minutes.”

The baby had sustained severe head injuries from the dog attack inside the home. Despite receiving immediate treatment from paramedics at the scene and being rushed to the hospital for further care, she tragically passed away a short time later.

The dog involved in the attack, which is not classified as a dangerous breed, has been destroyed.

Our thoughts remain with her family at this devastating time,” the police spokesperson added.

Police are in the early stages of their investigation, and enquiries are ongoing to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
