Two 17-year-old boys have been charged following a serious assault in Sittingbourne last week, in which a 16-year-old boy sustained a stab wound.
Incident Details
Kent Police were called to an address in Murston shortly before 9 p.m. on Thursday, 16 January, after reports of an assault. The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was found with injuries consistent with a stab wound.
Officers, along with South East Coast Ambulance Service, attended the scene, and the boy was taken to a local hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, and he was later discharged to continue his recovery.
It is alleged that a group of individuals arrived at the scene and left in a car during the incident.
Arrests and Charges
The day after the assault, police made arrests in connection with the incident.
- Suspect 1: A 17-year-old boy was charged on Saturday, 18 January with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article. Following a hearing at Medway Magistrates’ Court, he was remanded in custody and will appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, 14 February.
- Suspect 2: Another 17-year-old boy was charged with the same offences. After an initial hearing, he was bailed with conditions and is also scheduled to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, 14 February.
