Police in Ilford are appealing for the public’s help to trace a 44-year-old man who absconded from a care facility while on escorted leave. Balasankar Narayanan was last seen at approximately 6:40 PM BST on Sunday, August 4, when he ran off from staff during a visit to a local park.
Narayanan was under the care of a facility in Ilford and had been on an escorted outing when he fled the scene, leaving staff unable to locate him. Authorities are now urgently seeking information on his whereabouts.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, “We are appealing to the public to assist us in locating Balasankar Narayanan. He was last seen in a local park in Ilford on Sunday evening and has not returned to the care facility. Our primary concern is for his safety and well-being.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen Narayanan or has information about his current location to come forward. He is described as being of medium build, with short black hair, and was last seen wearing a dark jacket and trousers.
The care facility and local authorities are working closely together to trace Narayanan, and police have urged the public not to approach him if spotted, but instead to contact emergency services immediately.
We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who may have seen someone matching Narayanan’s description,” the police spokesperson added. “Your information could be crucial in helping us locate him and ensuring he receives the care he needs.”
