In a shocking incident on Friday evening, a woman and her young daughter were seen running down First Avenue, Dagenham, following a brutal stabbing. A witness, who asked to remain anonymous, described the distressing scene as something “like a horror film.”

The witness, who had only recently moved to the area, recounted seeing a woman with a severe neck injury and her daughter, who appeared to be around eight years old, suffering a deep cut to her face. “It seems like he tried to cut her throat, and she must have moved away, but he got her face. She was holding her face together,” the witness explained.

According to the witness, the woman’s injury was severe, describing it as “the biggest slice to the neck” they had ever seen. The victim’s desperation was evident as she clutched her wound while running in panic.

The man believed to be responsible for the attack was found inside the property, lying on the floor as police officers arrested him. The witness reported that the suspect appeared unwell and had stopped breathing, speculating that he may have overdosed as there was “no blood coming from him at all.” Authorities later confirmed that the suspect had been transported to the hospital after becoming unwell.

The witness, who had been alerted to the incident by their young nephew, expressed shock and concern over the events. I’ve only lived here a month,” they stated, emphasizing the unexpected nature of the violence in the neighbourhood.
