Callous Thief Steals From The Dead in Cowes Isle of Wight

An appeal  for the return of stolen planks has  been made after the theft from a Cemetery in Cowes.

The 24 x 12′ green oak planks were stolen from  the Northwood cemetery on Newport Road in Cowes  . The callous thief pulled up and stole the wood.  It was destined for use in the natural woodland burial ground on the site next to Cowes Medical Centre. The thief would have had to use some considerable effort to steal the wood and would have needed  transport to move it  away from the site.  Many have  condemned  the behaviour calling it very low and  disgusting behaviour. Any information on the theft  is asked to Hampshire Police on  101
