Sussex Police in Eastbourne received reports on June 6th, 2024, of a man potentially in possession of a firearm on a public footpath near Hill Road. The incident prompted an immediate and thorough response to ensure the safety of the community.

Armed officers were swiftly deployed to the area and conducted extensive searches, aided by a police drone. Despite their efforts, neither individuals nor firearms were discovered during the operation.

We are relieved to confirm that no injuries were sustained during this incident,” stated a spokesperson for Sussex Police. However, we continue to urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity promptly.

Residents are encouraged to report concerns online or via the non-emergency number 101, referencing Operation Sealion. In emergency situations, residents should dial 999 for immediate assistance.
