Firefighters and Traffic Warden Team Up to Rescue Horse Trapped in Gosport
A dramatic rescue unfolded in Gosport this afternoon as 15 firefighters and a vigilant traffic warden freed a horse stuck painfully in a horse-box.
Specialist Rescue Teams Called In
The horse became trapped under the partition of its horse-box on Park Road just before 1pm today (Friday). The distressed owner quickly raised the alarm, prompting a swift response from local Gosport firefighters. When the situation proved tricky, specialist animal rescue crews from Brokenhurst and Basingstoke were called to the scene.
Traffic Warden Keeps Area Secure
A traffic warden stepped in to close nearby roads and monitor the crowd, warning that the frightened horse might suddenly break free and risk injuring passersby. A vet also arrived to check on the horse’s condition during the tense rescue operation.
