A car careered through a shop, smashing the floor-to-ceiling window and bursting out the other side. One man jumped from the vehicle as firefighters arrived at the chaotic scene. Meanwhile, five people were rushed to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
Firefighters Work Fast to Secure Site
Station Commander David Murphy said: “Crews arrived to find a vehicle that had passed through the floor-to-ceiling window of a shop and exited out of another. Crews worked to make the scene safe alongside partners.”
The Brigade was called at 1.51pm and wrapped up their operation by 3.10pm.

- Two fire rescue units from Bethnal Green and Edmonton stations
The swift arrival of emergency crews prevented further injuries, but the incident left local shoppers stunned and shaken.
