Two Killed in Serious Motorway Smash Two others left with serious injuries

Southampton,Hampshire Tuesday 1st December 2015

Two People have died and two other have been seriously injured after a major crash on a Hampshire Motorway.

The M271 motorway in Hampshire has been closed in both directions since about 6pm this evening Emergency services rushed to the scene to face a scene of total carnage.

Two Lorry drivers had to be cut free from there cab. Two other people traveling in a car between the two lorries  became  sandwiched they have sadly died.  Firefighters from Redbridge, St Marys, Totton and as far as Cosham rushed to the scene including two specialist vehicles that kitted out with s equipment to deal with road traffic collisions such as cutting equipment and platforms to reach LGV’s.  The Fire service have also been supported by South Central Ambulance service who sent  Two land ambulances a rapid response paramedic  and  HART team.  Two people where rushed to hospital with injuries described as serious.

One Rescue work who did not wish to be named described the scene as total carnage, something he hadn’t seen in twenty years of attending road traffic collisions at first we didn’t even see the car between the two lorries. The damage was so serve we couldn’t at first tell how many people where or had been in the vehicle.

Vehicles kitted out with  equipment to deal with road traffic collisions where also sent to the  scene by the fire service.

All emergency services are still currently on the scene dealing with the incident whilst Police officer piece together what happened. ©UKNIP
