Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Southampton in the early hours of this morning (February 25).
Officers from Hampshire Police were called to Santander in Burgess Road at 1am after two G4S staff were robbed by three men wearing hooded tops.
One of the G4S employees was pushed to the ground causing a cut to his knee. No weapons were seen.
The offenders were able to run off with a cash box containing a quantity of cash.
The offenders are described as being white and wearing hooded tops, one of which was red.
Detective Constable Jonathan Hyland said: “Fortunately the G4S staff member was not seriously assaulted but this was more luck than judgement.
“Security staff serving the public need to be able to do their jobs without fear of violence and assaults.
“We’d appeal for anybody, particularly in this part of Southampton, who has any information about this incident, to call Hampshire Constabulary using the 101 number.
“Somebody will know who was out at 1am and that they were planning something unlawful.
“Please come forward and assist your police service in bringing these offenders to justice.”
Anyone with information is asked to call DC Hyland on 101, quoting 44160079706, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
