A major road had to be closed in Southampton after an inspection of a tree found it about fall down. A concerned resident made the urgent call to the council who sent out an inspector. He deemed that immediate action needed to be taken as the tree was about to fall.
Motorists in Southampton were forced to take a detour after the dangerous tree forced a road closure.
Kanes Hill Road was closed from Thornhill Park to it’s junction with St John Road in Hedge End Southampton while the tree was removed by specialist contractors
A Hampshire Highways Council spokeswoman said: “Kanes Hill was closed today to allow removal of a dangerous tree. Sorry for any inconvenience – The road reopened as soon as possible once the tree’s away.[tubentertain vid=”6YD0YcHnNsI” autoplay=”0″]
The diversion route during the closure hit motorists who have claimed it added an extra 30 minutes to their journeys.
