Emergency services were called just after 11am this morning to Onslow Road in Southampton.

Two fire crews  from St Marys fire station have been called  to the incident on Onslow Road in Southampton and are assisting the Ambulance service in a rescue operation after a man fell from a window and was injured.

The Aerial ladder was used to help  in the recovery of  the man who had fallen from a window Fire crews removed a grating to help recover the man near to Eve hairdressers on Onslow Road.


Police closed the road in both directions so that the Fire and Rescue service could extend the boom of the aerial ladder to help with the recovery  operation. The man was immobilised on a spinal board at the scene treated by a rapid response paramedic  before being taken by land ambulance to the  Southampton General Hospital

A spokeswoman from Hampshire fire and rescue said that they had sent one fire appliance and an aerial ladder platform from St Mary’s who are assisting South Central ambulance service .
