A protest held in the vicinity of Green Lanes and Stanhope Gardens, N4, this evening concluded under police-imposed conditions. The Metropolitan Police were present to monitor the event, which saw one arrest and the enforcement of dispersal orders under the Public Order Act.

Arrest for Suspected Terrorism Support

At approximately 7:00 p.m., a man was arrested on suspicion of expressing support for a proscribed terrorist organisation. Police stated the arrest was related to chanting heard during the protest. The individual remains in custody as inquiries continue.

 

 

Conditions Imposed on the Protest

Due to concerns over public order, officers imposed conditions under Section 14 of the Public Order Act, requiring the event to conclude by 8:00 p.m.. Protesters were informed of the conditions, and participants were warned that failure to comply could lead to arrests.

A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police explained:
