Five Men Busted in Kent Car Theft Spree
Detectives have charged five men with conspiracy offences following a spate of vehicle thefts across Kent.
Break-Ins Across Kent Spark Police Action
Between Wednesday 20 March and Monday 15 April 2024, multiple vehicles were stolen during break-ins in Medway, Maidstone, Tonbridge, and New Romney. Police intensified their hunt for the culprits amidst rising concerns over the crime wave.
High-Speed Police Stop Leads to Arrests
On 15 April, officers intercepted two cars heading towards Chatham. Five suspects were arrested at the scene. The Kent Crime Squad has taken the lead in the investigation.
Charged and Remanded
- Rhys Smith, 29, Brisley Lane, Ashford
- Bill Adams, 24, Elm Grove, Sittingbourne
- Paul Bristow, 33, Chilmington Green, Ashford
- John Adams, 31, Common Road, Cranbrook
- Jamie Knight, 23, South Park Road, Maidstone
All five appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 18 April and were remanded in custody. They face charges of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and conspiracy to burgle. Their next hearing is set for 17 May at Maidstone Crown Court.
