Officers from the Met Police are investigating after a number of people fell ill in Camden on Monday, March 3, in a suspected drug-related incident.
Police have confirmed that at least nine individuals have been affected, with initial reports suggesting that the cases may be linked to a substance believed to be heroin. Fortunately, there have been no reported fatalities at this time, but officials continue to monitor the situation closely.
Ongoing Investigation
The Metropolitan Police, in collaboration with Camden Council and other local partners, have launched an investigation to determine whether the substance in question was the cause of the illnesses. No arrests have been made, and inquiries are ongoing.
A police spokesperson emphasized the dangers of illicit drug use, stating: “Public safety is our priority, and our advice remains that people should not buy, sell, or consume illegal drugs. These substances are not regulated, and there are always serious risks associated with taking them.”
Community Safety Warning
Authorities are urging the public to remain cautious and to report any suspicious substances or drug-related activity. Anyone feeling unwell after potential drug use is advised to seek medical attention immediately.
The police continue to investigate, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
