Emergency services rushed to the junction of Arundel Road and Cissbury Avenue in Peacehaven in the early hours of this morning (Sunday) after a van ploughed through metal railings, mounted a wall, and crashed into an elderly care home.
The incident happened at around 2am, prompting a large emergency response. Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS), South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb), and Sussex Police all attended the scene.
Witnesses reported being woken by a loud bang as the vehicle smashed through the barriers before colliding with the building. It is not yet confirmed if anyone inside the care home or the driver sustained injuries.
The area has been cordoned off while emergency crews worked to make the scene safe and assess the structural damage to the property.
Sussex Police have been contacted for comment.
