Major Crash Shuts A30 in West Cornwall

Devon & Cornwall Police have confirmed that three men were seriously injured in a crash on the A30 near Hayle on Sunday night, 7 December.

Collision Details and Emergency Response

The smash happened just before 8pm between Roseworthy and Marsh Lane. It involved a police vehicle and two other cars. Several people needed ambulance treatment at the scene.

Among the injured were two police officers. All three men were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Their families have been informed.

Road Closure and Investigation Launched

Emergency services shut down the road completely at both St Erth roundabout and the Hayle bypass while work was underway. The A30 finally reopened this morning.

Because a police vehicle was involved, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been automatically notified to investigate the incident.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers urge anyone with information to get in touch via the police website or by calling 101, quoting log number 701. The investigation remains ongoing.
