Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a basement fire at a house in Malvern Road, Gillingham. Two fire engines attended and crews wore breathing apparatus while using hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze. No casualties were reported. Teenager jumps into canal to save a baby
A 16-year-old boy jumped into the Canal on Saturday night to save a 7-week-old baby after he saw a pram roll into the water. The pram unexpectedly rolled away from the mother who was also with a puppy at the time. The baby is thought to have been checked over in hospital.
