Pensioner Attacked and Robbed in Lewisham Home – Police Hunt Mystery Woman
80-Year-Old Woman Violently Robbed
Detectives have released a CCTV image after an elderly woman was viciously robbed in her Lewisham home. On Friday, 2 October, the 80-year-old victim was home alone in Shardeloes Road when a man knocked at the door.
He forced his way inside, shoved the pensioner, causing her to hit her head on furniture and suffer an injury. The victim is currently recovering from the traumatic ordeal.
Thief Steals Purse Before Racking Up Charges
While the woman lay injured on the floor, the attacker rifled through her handbag and stole her purse. Within ten minutes, the victim’s stolen bank card was used in four different Lewisham Way shops, spending £94 in total.
Police Seek Woman in CCTV Image
Police want to speak to a woman caught on CCTV who may hold vital information. Detective Constable Bethany Russell of the South East Command Unit said:
“This was a cowardly, shameful attack. The victim is understandably shaken and distressed. We need to find those responsible to protect the community and bring some peace to this poor woman.”
She urged anyone recognising the woman in the CCTV footage to come forward immediately.
