Shocking Grab-and-Run: Elderly Woman Robbed in Burgoyne Road
Police are hunting a thug who snatched a handbag from an 84-year-old woman near the junction of Burgoyne Road and Furness Road yesterday afternoon.
Victim Attacked in Broad Daylight
At around 5 to 5.20pm on Wednesday, the pensioner was walking along Burgoyne Road when a man lunged from behind and yanked her handbag away. The struggle forced her to the ground.
Thief Makes Off with Cash and Cards
The stolen bag was black faux leather and held a black leather purse containing £70, a bus pass, and a debit card.
Police Description of Suspect
- Around 5’6” tall
- Slim build
- Wearing a long coat with hood up
Extra police patrols are now in place to reassure locals as cops urge witnesses to come forward.
