Shocking Attack as Pensioner Robbed on Deal High Street

An elderly woman was targeted in a brazen purse snatch on Deal High Street, Kent. The victim, in her 80s, had just withdrawn cash from a local bank when she was grabbed from behind.

Attack Caught Locals Off Guard

The incident happened just before 5pm on Saturday, 20 May. The pensioner was walking along Queen Street, near a supermarket, when the thief struck.

Teen Suspect Fleeing the Scene

Detective Inspector Cox revealed the suspect is described as a white male, about 16 or 17 years old, dressed in a black tracksuit. Passersby gave chase towards Blenheim Road but lost sight of him.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Police are reviewing CCTV footage and urge anyone who saw the attack or has information to come forward.

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who has further information and has not yet been in touch,” said DI Cox.
