After being called just before 5 p.m. on the 4th July 2022 twelve fire crews worked to extinguish the flames at the building. Berkshire Fire Service and the London Fire Brigade assisted Surrey Fire & Rescue Service on the scene.

Because of the large amount of smoke billowing from the fire, residents were urged to close doors and windows. Laleham Road was closed all night Monday, with police confirming that an investigation had been launched.
