Air Ambulance Responds to Woolwich Stabbing That Leaves Year 12 Student Fighting for Life

An air ambulance was among the emergency resources dispatched to a serious stabbing in Woolwich that has left an 18-year-old Year 12 student in critical condition.

Paramedics were alerted to the incident at 4:21 PM on January 6, with reports of a stabbing on Prince Imperial Road, near Red Lion Lane.

Emergency Response

A robust response was mobilised, including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, an incident response officer, a Tactical Response Unit, and London’s Air Ambulance. The air ambulance charity is only deployed to assist with the most severe cases, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.

The first paramedics arrived at the scene within six minutes of receiving the report and found an 18-year-old male suffering from stab wounds. The victim’s injuries have been confirmed as life-threatening, and he is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

The injured teenager has been identified as a Year 12 pupil at Shooters Hill Sixth Form on Red Lion Lane, located near the scene of the stabbing.
