Child dies following fatal collision in East Finchley

Police investigating a collision that resulted in the death of a child are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward. Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at just after 7pm on Wednesday, 22 May to East End Road N2, following reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a small child. Officers attended, along with London Ambulance and London’s Air Ambulance. At the scene a three year old boy had been in collision with a Toyota Rav4. The injured child was taken to a north London hospital by LAS where he was sadly pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Next of kin have been informed. The driver of the car involved stopped at the scene and has not been arrested. Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and officers are keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage or who witnessed the incident first hand.
