Major Police Investigation After Man Found Stabbed in Middlesbrough

Police have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was found with life-threatening stab wounds in Middlesbrough.

At around 2.40pm on Wednesday, April 30, Cleveland Police received reports of a man seen walking while seriously injured on Linthorpe Road.

Initial reports indicated that the man had been stabbed in Albert Park near the fountain. However, police now believe the incident actually took place inside a property, and not in the park as first thought.

Man in Critical Condition – Arrest Made

The 51-year-old victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to James Cook University Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Cleveland Police confirmed that a 48-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody for questioning.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said:
“At approximately 2.40pm on Wednesday, April 30, police received information that a man was walking while injured on Linthorpe Road. Initial reports suggested that he had been stabbed in Albert Park near to the fountain; however, enquiries have since established it occurred at a property.

Appeal for Information

Officers are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam footage, or witness information to come forward.

Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact Cleveland Police via 101, quoting the incident date.
