Pupils at Eskdale Academy were thrown into chaos Monday morning when a man carrying what looked like an air rifle was spotted nearby. The alarm was raised just as students were arriving at 8.55am, triggering a swift lockdown.
Headteacher Acts Fast to Protect Students
The headteacher immediately ordered all children inside and secured every entrance. Staff moved quickly to keep the youngsters safe while police were called in to deal with the threat.
Man Arrested Over Imitation Firearm and Drugs
Cleveland Police confirmed a 30-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence. He was also charged with possession of a Class A drug. The suspect remains in custody for questioning.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
