Three Dead in Horror Collision
A third victim has died following a devastating crash in East Peckham near Tonbridge. The collision took place on the A228 Boyle Way at 6.25 pm on Wednesday, 1 April 2026. A white DAF tipper truck struck a pony and trap travelling northbound between Branbridges Road and Hale Street.
Family Devastated: Husband, Daughter, and Now Mum Dead
- A man in his 30s, who was in the trap, died instantly at the scene.
- A young girl, also in the trap, died later in the hospital.
- The woman, a young mum, passed away in hospital a week after the crash on 9 April.
- The pony tragically died at the scene.
Driver Arrested and Released on Bail
The tipper truck driver, a 29-year-old Kent man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit. He was later bailed pending further inquiries.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers are hunting anyone who saw the pony and trap or the truck before the crash. They urge witnesses to come forward with any information or dashcam footage.
