Park Hill School, Ilford, IG5 was thrown into lockdown on Friday afternoon after the knifeman scadled a fench and ran into the playground.
A knifeman jumped over the school gates but was quickly detained by armed police officers from the Met Police.
No one was hurt in the incident that was caught on camera.
A spokesman for the Met Police said :
Police were called at 2.40pm on Friday, 3 February, to a report of a man with a knife and a person assaulted in Lord Avenue, Ilford.
A man was treated at the scene by LAS having been bitten on his finger.
Officers attended and arrested a man on suspicion of GBH and possession of cannabis.
