Channel 4 has announced an extended second series of the popular documentary “The Royals: A History of Scandals” for More4 and its streaming service. Brighton-based production company Hello Mary will produce the six-part series, set to air later this year.

Historian and presenter Suzannah Lipscomb will return to host the show, which explores the centuries-old tradition of royal scandals and intrigue. The timing of this series is particularly relevant, given the current heightened speculation surrounding the private lives of the modern Royal Family.

Channel 4 Commissions Extended Second Series of “The Royals: A History of Scandals”

Lipscomb will travel across the UK, visiting historic palaces and houses to investigate both well-known and lesser-known royal controversies. The series will examine the roles of the press, parliament, and public in fueling and spreading royal gossip throughout history.

The Royals: A History of Scandals marks Hello Mary’s second recent commission from Channel 4, following Vicky Pattison: Destination Wedding, which is also set to air later this year.
