Jaswant Narwal, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London North, announced today that the Crown Prosecution Service has granted authorisation to the Metropolitan Police to press murder charges against Marcus Arduini Monzo. Monzo stands accused of the murder of 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin, who tragically lost his life in Hainault on Tuesday, April 30.

In addition to the murder charge, Monzo faces further allegations stemming from the same incident, which left four others, including two police officers, seriously injured. The charges include two counts of attempted murder, two counts of grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary, and possession of a bladed article.
Monzo is scheduled to appear before Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on May 2, 2024.
Our thoughts remain firmly with the family of Daniel and all those who have been impacted by this horrific incident,” stated Narwal.
Narwal emphasized the importance of adhering to legal procedures, reminding the public of Monzo’s right to a fair trial. “It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary, or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings,” Narwal stressed.
