Hit-and-Run in Silvertown Leaves E-Scooter Rider Hospitalised

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 20s was injured in a crash involving an electric scooter and a car in Silvertown, East London.

The incident happened around 1:15 AM on Saturday, May 24, near the junction of North Woolwich Road and Silvertown Way (E16).

Driver Fled Scene Without Stopping

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the vehicle failed to stop at the scene. Emergency services responded quickly, and the injured man was transported to hospital.

A spokesperson said the victim’s injuries were “not life-threatening,” and he is expected to recover.

Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage and Witnesses

The Met Police are now urging anyone with dash cam footage or who witnessed the crash to come forward. No arrests have been made at this time.

“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, aged in his 20s, injured,” a Met spokesperson said.
“He was on an electric scooter when he was in collision with a car, which failed to stop at the scene.”
