Emergency services were called to Kingston University this evening following reports of an explosion inside one of the campus laboratories.

The London Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulances and an ambulance officer to the scene, alongside crews from the London Fire Brigade. The incident, which is believed to have taken place inside a science or research lab, prompted an immediate emergency response.

Sources suggest that several individuals were treated at the scene, with at least two people transported to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A spokesperson from the London Fire Brigade confirmed that firefighters worked alongside university staff to secure the area and assess any potential chemical or structural hazards. The exact cause of the explosion remains unclear and is now under investigation by Kingston University.
