An investigation is ongoing following a fatal collision in Wickford, which occurred on Southend Road at around 9 pm on Tuesday, 1 April 2025.
Emergency services were called to the scene after a car and a motorbike collided. The road was immediately closed between Hill Avenue and Hawkins Close while officers and paramedics attended to the incident.
Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, the motorbike rider, a man in his 30s, sadly died from his injuries. His family has been informed and is currently being supported by specialist officers.

A spokesperson from Essex Police said:

Residents and motorists are advised that Southend Road has since reopened following the completion of forensic investigations at the scene.
