Fire Destroys Multiple Farm Buildings in Little Hallingbury

Fire crews have brought a large blaze involving multiple farm buildings under control in Little Hallingbury, Essex, following a significant overnight operation.

Firefighters were called to the rural location late Friday night to find a large open-sided barn, a wooden outbuilding, and a series of smaller structures and containers fully alight.

Firefighters Prevent Spread to Stables and Thatched Home

Crews acted swiftly to prevent the flames from reaching a nearby thatched house and stables containing horses. Thanks to their quick work, no animals were harmed, and the stable block remained undamaged.

Water supply was a major challenge, with firefighters requesting two water bowsers to assist with the operation.

Update – 6am Saturday

The fire is now fully extinguished, but crews remain at the scene to dampen down hotspots and monitor for potential flare-ups.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and fire investigation officers are expected to examine the scene later today.

Residents in the area are urged to remain cautious due to the earlier smoke plume and to avoid the immediate vicinity while crews complete their safety checks.
