Firefighters from across Hampshire rushed to a large blaze involving the roof space of a property on Rake Road this afternoon, prompting a significant emergency response.

Fire Scaled Down, No Casualties

By 7:30pm, the incident was scaled down, with only a couple of fire engines remaining on site. Crews continue to dampen down hot spots as the fire has now been brought under control.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, and both the gas and electric supply to the property have been safely isolated.

Public Asked to Stay Clear

Members of the public were asked to avoid the area throughout the afternoon and evening due to the high number of emergency service vehicles in attendance.

A stop message was received at 8:51pm, formally marking the conclusion of firefighting operations at the site.

Investigation Underway

Fire investigation officers are expected to attend the scene to determine the cause of the blaze. As a precaution, firefighters will return in the morning to carry out fire safety visits at nearby homes.

This remains a developing story. Further updates will be provided as more details become available.
