Alvin Githai, 43, was charged yesterday with the murder of 35-year-old Vivienne Baraka. He is due to appear in court today.

Tragic Scene at Riverside Close

Police were called to Riverside Close at around 3.15pm on %%UKNIP_ANCHOR_0%% 26 over concerns for a woman’s welfare. Officers and paramedics arrived to find Vivienne seriously injured. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem revealed Vivienne died from compression to the neck.

Arrest and Family Heartbreak

  • Githai was initially arrested at the scene but later released under investigation.
  • He was re-arrested and formally charged on October 8.

"Vivienne had an infectious smile, was a mother, sister, daughter and was a bubbly person who was full of life," said her family.

"She was outgoing and loved to support her family, friends and community. The family continues to struggle with her untimely departure and aren't sure if time will ever bring solace or healing after she was taken too soon from us."
