A man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed and sprayed in the face with an aerosol substance during a violent altercation near the Croydon Employment Tribunal offices.

Emergency services were called to Montague Court, Croydon, at 12:57pm on Tuesday, March 18, following reports of a disturbance.

According to the Metropolitan Police, a 37-year-old man was found at the scene with a stab wound and suffering the effects of an unknown spray used during the attack. He received medical treatment from London Ambulance Service paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Fortunately, police confirmed that his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:

“Police were called to reports of an altercation in Montague Court, Croydon at 12:57hrs on Tuesday, 18 March.
The London Ambulance Service treated a 37-year-old man at the scene for a stab wound. The man had also been sprayed in the face with an aerosol can. He was taken to hospital where his injuries were confirmed to be non-life-threatening or life-changing.”

At this stage, no arrests have been made, and officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing.
