A man who was stabbed to death in Clapham has been named as 24-year-old Dontae McLaren, as police release his picture for the first time.

On Sunday, September 29, at around 4:05 am, emergency services were called to Wandsworth Road following reports of a knife fight. Despite their best efforts, McLaren was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have launched a murder investigation, and detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, “This was a senseless act of violence that has cost a young man his life. We urge anyone with information to contact us immediately.

McLaren’s family is being supported by specialist officers during this tragic time. They have described Dontae as a loving and kind person who had his whole life ahead of him.

No arrests have yet been made, and police have asked anyone with information to call 101, quoting reference CAD 1254/29Sep, or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance to residents following the tragic incident.
