The Metropolitan Police Service is proud to announce the recognition of PC Colin Chappell and PC Dave Asquith, along with their dedicated police dogs Remus and Sherpa, for their outstanding performance in this year’s NPCC Police Dog Action of the Year Award.
The prestigious award comes in recognition of a remarkable incident that occurred on a Croydon housing estate in the early hours of 7th July last year. Responding to reports of gunshots, PC Chappell and PC Asquith, accompanied by their loyal canine companions Remus and Sherpa, were instrumental in the arrest of six individuals. Moreover, their swift action led to the recovery of a firearm and spent cartridges from the scene.
