A murder investigation is underway after a man was fatally shot in Barking early Sunday morning.
Police were called at approximately 04:35hrs on Sunday, 13 October, to reports of an injured man on Linton Road, Barking. Officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found a man, believed to be in his 30s, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed, and a crime scene remains in place as investigations continue.
No arrests have been made so far, and police are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Acting Detective Chief Superintendent Lewis Basford, responsible for policing in East Area, which includes Barking, said: “I understand the shock and concern local residents will be feeling following this incident, but I want to reassure them that a team of experienced detectives are already working diligently to piece together the events that have led to this shooting and identify who is responsible.

Residents in the area will notice an increased police presence as officers continue their investigation. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with the inquiry.
