A man has been shot in Croydon after a firearms discharge on Park Street, prompting a major police response and an ongoing investigation.
At 7:37 p.m. yesterday (February 10), Metropolitan Police were called to reports of gunfire on Park Street, Croydon. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson stated:
**“At 19:37hrs yesterday, police were called to reports of firearms discharge at Park Street, Croydon, and a male having been shot.
“Police and LAS attended the location and provided first aid to the victim.
“The victim has been taken to hospital, and we await an update on their condition.
“A crime scene is in place, no arrests have been made, and enquiries are ongoing.”**
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:
“We were called at 7.43pm on Monday 10 February to reports of a shooting on High Street, Croydon.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and a clinical team manager.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
The Metropolitan Police’s specialist firearms officers and detectives from the South Area Command Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
