Police have arrested two people following a firearm discharge in Newham this afternoon, which left one man injured and sparked a major emergency response.
At approximately 2:42pm on Tuesday, April 29, officers were called to Upton Lane, E7 after reports of gunshots heard in a residential street. Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene where a man was treated for a gunshot wound. He has since been transported to hospital, where his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
Two other individuals were also treated at the scene for head injuries, though their conditions have not been described as serious.
Quick Arrests and Firearm Recovery
In a swift response, officers from the Metropolitan Police’s North East Command arrested two individuals in connection with the incident. One of the suspects remains in hospital after sustaining minor injuries.
Police have confirmed that a firearm has been recovered and a cordon remains in place on Upton Lane while forensic investigations continue.
