Police have provided an update on the condition of a man left critically injured following a serious crash in Rainham.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to New Road at 8.18pm on Friday, April 25, after reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, emergency crews found a 45-year-old man suffering from serious injuries.

The man received treatment at the scene from paramedics before being taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition, with injuries described as potentially life-changing.

Today (April 27), a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that the man’s condition has since stabilised, although he remains in hospital.

No arrests have been made, and enquiries are ongoing as officers work to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the collision or the moments leading up to it to come forward. Those with information are asked to call 101 quoting reference CAD 7371/25APR25.
