Sinkhole not to be confused with Pothole appears on Isle of Wight Road

A sinkhole has appeared and Island Roads say they are looking into it. A road closure between Firestone Copse and Briddlesford was been put into place and remained until 10.30pm on Tuesday June 26. whilst works are carried out by the council contractor to make the effected section of road safe The cause of the sinkhole, which measured around a metre across, is unknown. Island roads say they are continuing to work with other utilities services.
