Taxi Driver’s Death not being treated as suspicious after man’s body found in Southampton Road

The death of a man whose body was found in a vehicle is Merryoak Road in Southampton this afternoon is not being treated as suspicious. Police cordoned off Merryoak Road in Southampton after the discovery of the body and placed a white tent around the vehicle. Emergency services were alerted to the 62 Plate Silver Citroen Picasso just after 2pm on Wednesday afternoon (November 22). Fire Crews attended with Paramedics and Police. Due to the size of the man and his location fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to removed the drivers and rear doors and the B Pillar of the vehicle. Police were alerted to the man who had sadly passed away in the vehicle overnight. It is understood from witnesses that a residents spotted the car in the road and the vehicle was still in the same location and had not moved. One resident who asked not to be named said that they raised the alarmed it’s very sad to think he died alone. Despite efforts of Paramedics and Ambulance workers to restart the man heart he was pronounced dead at the scene. The taxi driver is understood to be from the local area and worked in around Southampton and the Eastleigh Area. Police don’t believed that their are any suspect circumstances into the the dead and the man may have died from a heart-attack overnight. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner said a Hampshire Police spokesman.
